Salary Info Presidential Salary Information The most recent salary increase, to $400,000/year from $200,000/year, took effect when George W. Bush became President. The President also receives a $50,000 non-taxable expense account. Salary Information for Vice President and Other High Ranking Federal Officials Other federal officials, such as the Vice President, Cabinet members, and members of Congress do not have fixed salaries, but rather ones that can increase annually. These salaries are summed up for the years of 2003 to 2005 in an online document published by the Congressional Research Service called Salaries of Federal Officials by Barbara L. Schwemle [CRS Report for Congress 98-53 GOV]. It’s a PDF file. If you have trouble opening it, install the free download of the Adobe Reader software to open it. You can track most federal officials’ salary changes that were made each year since 1996 by visiting the Office of Personnel Management’s Compensation Policy Memoranda page, which will have a link to the most recent pay adjustment information. For example, the January 2002 Pay Adjustments page has a link to this text document , showing the following salary information: Vice President – $192,600; Speaker of the House – $192,600; Majority & Minority Leaders of the Senate & House – $166,700; Senators & Representatives – $150,000; Cabinet members (Executive Schedule, Level 1) – $166,700; etc. For a historical look at Congressional salaries, see this Congressional Pay Rates page from CongressLink. Was The White House Blackmailing Petraeus?

And “Rush Limbaugh Reports” ush Limbaugh pushed the baseless theory that the Obama administration is trying to manipulate former CIA director David Petraeus into lying about the attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya. Limbaugh’s theory revolves around the release of the information that Petraeus had been involved in an affair , which led to his recent resignation. Petraeus has agreed to testify before Congress about the attack. On his Wednesday show, Limbaugh played audio of Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer suggesting that the administration blackmailed Petraeus to influence a September 13 congressional briefing he gave on the Benghazi attack. Limbaugh agreed, saying, “It’s a reasonable thing to think [Petraeus] might have been blackmailed over this, and it’s reasonable to think he might have wanted to get out from under the blackmail by resigning.” Limbaugh went on to dismiss the notion that Petraeus’ resignation means he is now “free to tell the truth” about Benghazi and claimed the White House will still coerce Petraeus into giving potentially false testimony. Limbaugh said, “I think they’ve still got something to hold over Petraeus.” Referring to the anti-Islam video that reports say motivated the attack, Limbaugh concluded, “If they want him to tell the story about the video, that’s what he’s going to tell.” Which does mean, it may very well not be blackmail.

Wash Your Car In California Yourself? Go

Wash Your Car In California Yourself? Go to Jail For 6 Years New environmental water rules enforced by citizen snitch program By Paul Joseph Watson November 13, 2012 San Diegans could face 6 years in prison and fines of $100,000 dollars a day for washing their car in the driveway or failing to pick up dog poop under new EPA-mandated environmental regulations related to water quality. Although residents of the city are forced to drink toxic waste in their water supply in the form of sodium fluoride, measures imposed as a consequence of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Water Act would turn the most mundane of activities into a criminal offense. “California’s latest experiment in faith-based policy making is being unleashed today on the San Diego public, as regional water-quality officials begin hearings on new regulations that seem crafted to turn most owners of a car, house or dog into criminals within a decade or so. We wish we were exaggerating,” reports the North County Times. “Under the draft rules, ordinary homeowners may face six years in prison and fines of $100,000 a day if they are deemed serial offenders of such new crimes as allowing sprinklers to hit the pavement, washing a car in the driveway, or, conceivably, failing to pick up dog poop promptly from their own backyards, let alone the sidewalk.” The regulations will be enforced with the aid of a 24-hour telephone snitch line which residents of San Diego, south Orange and southwest Riverside counties can use to report on their neighbors for violating the new code. The new rules could even force firefighters to collect the water they use to douse burning buildings. The regulations are being passed under the justification of minimizing the bacteria Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) that runs into rivers and streams. The editorial board of the North County Times warns that the rules are “preposterous” and will “sap billions of dollars from the local economy.” “In hundreds of pages, the new regulations set targets that measure bacteria from animal waste during dry periods at local beaches, even as they note that wide variations in bacteria occur naturally in the environment. And we could find no evidence from these officials that severe cuts in stormwater runoff will cause improvements in human or wildlife health. Indeed, nowhere do they bother to say why today’s levels are considered bad for us,” writes the newspaper. Ironically, while San Diegans could be turned into criminals for failing to uphold dubious water quality standards, they are simultaneously being forced to consume drinking water contaminated with a known toxic waste – sodium fluoride. Almost 60 years after it was barred from public pumps and pipes, the city utilities department started fluoridating the water supply in San Diego again last year. As numerous studies and expert testimony affirm, sodium fluoride is a toxic waste from the phosphate industry and has been linked with innumerable debilitating and in some cases terminal health problems such as disorders affecting teeth, bones, the brain and the thyroid gland, as well as lowering IQ. Environmentalists and EPA regulators don’t appear to be too concerned about a product which has on its packaging a skull and crossbones being artificially added to the water supply, but the runoff from a car wash or a piece of dog poop apparently poses a big enough threat to turn residents into criminals for engaging in activity as mundane as cleaning their vehicle. Stephanie Gaines, land use and environmental planner for the county’s Department of Public Works, pointed out that ”The regulations stem from the federal Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Water Act and are passed down to the state, regional, and local levels.” Planning group member Chad Anderson said that the regulations appeared to “Overlap with statements from Agenda 21, the comprehensive global plan for sustainable development that was created at a…

The Untold Story of Thanksgiving http://

The Untold Story of Thanksgiving Although there was a dinner in 1621 Between Pilgrims and Two Native American translators, that’s not where the word Thanksgiving came from nor is it what Thanksgiving originally celebrated. In 2008 and 2009 you may have noticed how the media had turned that Thanksgiving into a “give thanks to the troops” or our heroes day, complete with a rolling statue of liberty and giant balloon uncle Sam’s at the Macy’s parade. That unapologetic nationalism and war support is actually much closer to the original Thanksgiving holiday than the revised mythology of brotherly love, peace, and sharing. We’ll see if they do that again this year. Thanksgiving has changed several times and the rituals we celebrate today were all added in at different times. Also to make things confusing the Native Americans really did have several festivals a year that happen to correlate with different harvest days. The first “real” Thanksgiving that even remotely resembles the mythology between Europeans and Natives was done in the Summer in 1585 on Croatoan Island in what’s now North Carolina, and now called Hatteras Island. However the claims about the Thanksgiving feast of today came way after this event had been long forgotten and in another area. The original Thanksgiving was once a set of holidays for the British colony of Massachusetts. They were to celebrating three different massacres of Native Americans. The Mystic River massacre had 700 Natives murdered, where long houses were set on fire and those fleeing the flames were ran through with swords. The colonists gave Thanks to the Christian God for their victories. Later these events were morphed to one day, and it became a state holiday. When the British Colonies became the United states, it remained a state holiday although it was scarcely celebrated and nearly forgotten. Eventually it became a National holiday through a decree by Lincoln during the Civil War, and this is where the fairy tale stories of brotherly love come from. At last, Roosevelt changed the date of the holiday for commercial interests and that is what the date still is today. Unofficially the day after Thanksgiving has become a national buy-things on sale for xmas day. Still the prevailing story is about the famous dinner, and the Mystic River Massacres have long saince been swept under the rug. History can be colored in such a great degree that it simply becomes false. Everyone in the US and Canada has heard the official story of Thanksgiving. You hear about it in grade school. It’s a nice tale of racial harmony and happy co-existing cultures sharing food in a feast and giving thanks, apparently without contradictions to pantheist concepts and monotheistic myths from sun worship perverted to a self sacrificing sadomasochistic god of ego demanding worship and issuing out eternal punishment for nonbelievers and who thought it was necessary to have a son (or become a his own son) and torture and kill it as a sacrifice to himself in order to be able to save everyone from his own wrath so long as they believe in his masochistic tantrum. Also known as Christianity. The American colonies, many of which existed long before the more famous Jamestown in Virginia or the Plymouth Rock colony in Massachusetts, were pirate colonies. Sir Walter Raleigh of the ” Roanoke” colony was a notorious privateer. In fact, if there ever was a Thanksgiving that even remotely fit the mystical tale it would be the meeting on Croatoan which thanks to a famous fictional play by ultra racist Paul Green, became known as the “Lost Colony” of Roanoke. That’s an Island of North Carolina not to be confused with an area of Virginia by the same name.) However the “Lost colony” was never lost. And only a small portion of it was ever on Roanoke Island. The Colonists lived on present day Hatteras Island for years before ever going to Roanoke, and when a portion of them left Roanoke, they didn’t just go to…
